Mount Zion Pentecostal Church

We are a family friendly community church who are passionate, enthusiastic and forward-looking, who are so looking forward to the blessings of Jesus Christ to grow our church for the local community.

The word of God, prayer and worship are our pillars to build our church upon

Our Vision

The vision of our church is to ‘keep the doors open 7 days a week through church unity and demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ’ serving the community and providing access to a place of worship.

This will take time to achieve but it is our heartfelt desire to deliver this vision over the next couple of years.

We as a church have a passion to serve our Lord Jesus Christ and the community.

Mount Zion Pentecostal Church comes under the Assemblies of God (AoG)

Meet the Team

Pastor Vaughan Elson and his wife Julie retired from the ministry in April 2023 having served faithfully in the church for the last 12 years. Mark and Cheryl now have had the privilege in the Lord of leading the church since 4th June 2023 and are extremely excited about the plans laid on their hearts for the church and the community. We have a brilliant team working with us and it’s a joy to work with them. We are so blessed. Over the coming months more details will be included about our team.

Mark C Jacobs - Pastor

The first thing to say is that I love the Lord Jesus Christ with all my heart, He is my life, my passion. My desire is to serve the Lord, the church family and the community to the best of my ability. I certainly don’t have all the answers, and will no doubt make many mistakes, but my heart is for Jesus Christ and building the church on Prayer, Worship, and the Solid Word of God. I will remain forever encouraged that all our hard work will be blessed by Jesus Christ. My leadership style is one of participation, where everyone has a voice, treated with respect and given the freedom to develop their ideas. Success will be based on the participation of the ‘whole church’ and not just a ‘part, and our combined enthusiasm, passion and our trust in Jesus Christ will be the foundation that keeps our journey vibrant and exciting.

We have a clear vision for our church and the community that will probably be refined as we continue our Christian journey, I am so thankful and grateful to Cheryl my wife and our church family who together I am confident that we will win the race, of course there will be hurdles and challenges but convinced that the Lord will bless us. Amen.

I was very blessed to have been brought up in a Christian family My parents, all my grandparents, aunties and uncles were born again Christians and served the Lord. My brother is also a Christian. I realised at the age of 9 I needed to accept The Lord Jesus into my life. From that day to this I can tell you I love the Lord with all my heart. I have been in Mount Zion Church since I was carried in my mother’s womb, 58 years later I am still here and thankful to the Lord for my spiritual home. My Church family are so special to me.

Mark and I first met when we were in our 20’s but we did not get together until we were in our 30’s we were like chalk and cheese, but the Lord saw it fit to put us together. I thank the Lord for blessing me with a wonderful, godly husband Mark. We have been together for 25years. I thank the Lord for answering my prayers that I prayed so many years ago that as a couple we would serve the Lord together. I know the hand of God is on Mark’s life and we as a couple are earnestly praying that the Lord will bless the work that we as a Church are doing for Him. Our passion is to see people come to know the Lord as their Saviour, and to see our community and valley changed with people flocking to churches once again.

We are here to serve firstly our Lord and Saviour, our church family and community and we would love to welcome you to Mount Zion Pentecostal Church.

A warm welcome awaits you

God bless you

Cheryl
